Castle in the Snow
The castle serves as a hideout as enemies lurk outside in the snow, perhaps close by behind the bridge. The enemy sends out a scout, a porcupine, to figure out the statistics of those in the castle.
This snow scene began with the modeling and texturing of the castle in Maya. Most of the castle is based on the combination of the gothic revival style with the more traditional stone keep castle. The landscape and the mountains were modeled using zbrush and a procedural snow material was placed where necessary. Pieces of a wall, a broken bridge, and a tower fill up the remainder of the scene. The porcupine in the foreground of the full scene utilized xgen within Maya.
Phoenix-Headed Ewer
This phoenix-headed ewer is based on the phoenix-headed ewer in the Chicago Art Musuem. It was modeled in Maya and then brought into zbrush for sculpting. The texture was painted using Procreate.
